Guan Eng’s brother surprise participant at Penang Run
The Penang Run 2013 yesterday, which drew criticism from Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, saw a surprise participant — his younger brother, consultant cardiologist Dr Lim Guan Choon.
According to a report in The Star, Dr Lim was spotted among the 3,200 participants at the Universiti Sains Malaysia stadium at about 7.30am before the prize-giving ceremony. He declined to say anything to reporters.
Guan Eng had caused controversy when he reportedly suggested that any organiser who wants to use the word “Penang” for an event must seek approval from his administration.
